Does anyone know where I can purchase a DVD RAM such as the one in the attached picture. I have been using one for some years now but it has finally died. Unfortunately my DVD recorder does not seem compatable with any other type of DVD RAM.

Your help would be appreciated. Thanks so much.

DVD-RW drives are cheap, might be more cost effective to replace the drive if you use many of these. I've only used one DVD-RAM disk ever and not the cartridge type but for me DVD-RW disks do the job and are more widely compatible.
the DVD-RAM standard was supposed to be more robust and last longer, not sure if that is true or not in practice but most DVD-RW drives now support the non cartridge disks making them more useful in general.

1348776 2013-07-16 01:54:00 Dugimodo: thanks for your contribution. It looks promising. I shall make enquiries. The reason that I want a DVD RAM is because I can either record one programme while watching another, or I can watch a programme that is still recording - very convenient when I am not ready to watch the programme straight away but after it has been recording for a short time, something that is not possible with an ordinary rewritable DVD.

Morgenmuffel: Thank you for your help. I have seen one that looks as though it may be what I require. I shall have to make some enquiries.

Thanks to you both. Most helpful.

1348778 2013-07-17 09:38:00 I think the OP is after a DVD RAM cartridge based disc, not the DVD RAM Drive.

For RAM drives, go with LG Electronics.

As for the discs - check out Harvey Normans. You should get change from a twenty.

Personally, I'm rapt with RAM discs, although my hardware has all been non-cartridge, plain disc format.
Fantastic reliability. Great for large volumes of 'archiving' if you're of a mind to use the discs to transfer data from one device to another.
