1348344 2013-07-17 00:43:00 Yeah it's still quite a "rough translation" from ADSL2+ speeds to VDSL2, it's not an exact science AFAIK.

However, if you're getting over 10mbps, you should get better speeds with VDSL2 :)

Then you're unlikely to see any significant improvement in downstream speeds, but upstream may be improved. VDSL may not even be available, depending how far below 10mbps you currently are / distance from cabinet.

1348347 2013-07-17 01:26:00 I am within the VDSL envelope, just had one sucky isp after another for the last two years.
So over it.

Not 100% sure where the cabinet is but its not far away.

1348348 2013-07-17 06:17:00 Well, got the vdsl up finally.....my Pace router wont connect at present, it keeps locking up?...so using Technicolour unit....not as fast down as I hoped, but im very happy with up speed...
There is a cabinet right out side our neighbours, unfortunately it for those number after mine, so im at end of the previous cabinet.

under 20 down, hope it improves, but 18.5 up is very cool.......funny thing is the router is reporting, im just not authenticating at that speed. 10,208 / 26,226

1348350 2013-07-17 07:43:00 I went form 19mbps/1mbps on ADSL2 to 44mbps/10mbps on VDSL2, if that's an indicator.
Wow that's a nice increase my adsl has been stable at 16-17mbps/1mbps so am hopeful for a good outcome

1348351 2013-07-18 12:09:00 Had mine installed a few hours ago this afternoon. Current test:
www.speedtest.net (www.speedtest.net)

Syncing at 10,347 / 30,992 on the Thomson.
Attenuation gone from 4.5 / 13.5 to 30.8 / 16.7 - dunno what's up with that!

Appears to be working fine so far though.

1348352 2013-07-18 13:30:00 Attenuation is different with VDSL2 vs ADSL2+ coz of the different frequencies etc Chilling_Silence (9)
1348353 2013-07-18 23:50:00 My install went in yesterday afternoon as planned. No problems. ADSL was 11mbps up 1.1mps down the new one is a good bit better www.speedtest.net I am more than happy. CliveM (6007)
