1348334 2013-07-16 02:47:00 Meh, just had my install pushed back to tomorrow....Grrrrrr! SolMiester (139)
1348335 2013-07-16 03:05:00 The upstream speed is trippy, might actually consider using cloud storage :)
Skydrive won't let me copy whole folders though. Kinda hopeless for backing up music.

so far now that it's working I'm quite impressed - juast as well because I think I've bricked my old router with a bad firmware update.

1348336 2013-07-16 04:21:00 Yeah it's fantastic!! Suddenly things like G+ Instant Backup stuff is *fine* with 720p video and more from your phone... Uploading all your music to Google Play Music so it's accessible anywhere, also fine.... It's great!

So what did they say the cause of the outage was ?

Yep, Skydrive is dumb like that. Also I think they have a 300MB file limit which is also rather stupid.
ADrive is better. Though perhaps something encrypted like Mega is a better idea...

Anyway, I don't trust Cloud much to begin with...

1348338 2013-07-16 05:03:00 Yeah, im thinking of ditching the folks Plex media server as they just complain its using too much space, so might be able to get them to just stream from my server.... SolMiester (139)

Maximum of 300MB via web interface, 2GB via desktop app.

I won't use Mega on principle :p

That's still stupid, and clearly a ploy to make you install their crapware.

1348341 2013-07-16 21:45:00 Mines being installed on Monday 22nd..getting 17mbits on dsl here in upper hutt, I have a cabinet in plain sight of my house so hopefully it should be ok? ChopperNz (17124)
1348342 2013-07-16 22:33:00 It ought to be great. I'm getting the impression if you connect over 10Mbps on ADSL2+ then you will see a good improvement with VDSL. It would be good to figure out the cutoff point relative to existing connection speed rather than line distance and loss as I think it's a more reliable indicator and easily checked.

I'm at 660M, used to connect at 16Mbps, dropped down to 13 at some point without noticing, switched to VDSL, now getting 27. I would expect yours to be better based on your 17Mbps connection now. Speedtest is almost hitting my sync speeds as well which is awesome.

I went form 19mbps/1mbps on ADSL2 to 44mbps/10mbps on VDSL2, if that's an indicator.
