In the absence of an actual +1 button...

1348315 2013-07-15 03:10:00 What are the line stats on that Dugi?

Well I'd love to answer that, but if the technicolor modem has line stats they are well hidden because I can't find them.
What I did post was an actual cut & paste from the DSL information screen and I left no useful information out......

Couldn't do much testing as PPOE kept dissappearing and I was on my lunch break so I am hoping that's just initial setup still going on and it will be settled down when I get back this afternoon and I can test it a bit more.

To use my exisiting router do I need to configure anything on the technicolor (I hope not) or just set the old router to a different DHCP range and configure an ethernet port as a WAN port and that's it ? Maybe I should start a new thread when I get round to setting this up.

1348316 2013-07-15 03:17:00 Connected today :)

Link Information

Uptime: 0 days, 0:17:49
DSL Type: ITU-T G.993.2
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 10,347 / 27,590

speedtest is getting approx 1,000/22,000 not sure why so slow upstream but supposedly they adjust things for the first 10 days so I'll wait and see.

Strange, the speedtest is no where near the stats of the line?!...with the stats posted previously......will let you know the outcome tomorrow!
I get .95\13.78Mbps on my current ADSL2+

1348317 2013-07-15 03:23:00 I've seen on other forums people have reported still on ADSL speeds on the first day, you just have to wait for DLM to sort it all out.

Thomson has (basic) line status under: Broadband Connection -> DSL Connection -> Details

You can also get into the Telnet interface and get some info there, including bitloading data.

What's your existing router make / model? Coz you know ADSL2+ routers aren't compatible with VDSL2 yeah?

By default it should still be good, not something that's gonna be fixed after a day, coz the DLM *supposedly* goes for 10 days, though mines gone for longer...

Of course, yes. I didn't want to hijack the thread so if I can't figure it out I'll start a new one but basically I want to use the new Router as a modem only and use my existing router for everything else. I downloaded new firmware for my Asus N55U that should let me configure one of the LAN ports to be a WAN port instead.

1348320 2013-07-15 04:32:00 You'll likely still run into issues with the TG789Vn... Personally I'd suggest just ditching the bastard in favour of a DrayTek DV2760. Chilling_Silence (9)
1348321 2013-07-15 06:04:00 Except that draytek is $288 - think I'll wait for actual problems before spending the money.

Speaking of, VDSL is off to a very poor start. It worked ok while the tech was here, hasn't worked since. DSL is up but no PPOE, currently on hold with the helpdesk - 2nd try, the first time I selected the call back feature only to be rung back by a machine, put back on hold, then hung up on - fantastic service.

1348322 2013-07-15 06:42:00 Could well be the router.
AFAIK telecom do port based authentication. I've had that issue once with them, they left the DLM for a few days and it changed the profile to compensate with that it came right... After a few days...

1348323 2013-07-15 06:46:00 Help desk claim my port is still being migrated and should be up by 7PM, if upgrading to VDSL means no internet for 7+ hours they should maybe mention that somewhere.
My T-tick won't last long :(
