1367720 2014-02-17 05:03:00 I fixed it! I open up my case today to install a CM Hyper 212 Evo CPU cooler and I looked at the firewire header where I plugged in the header cable. It was in the USB 1394 header not the 1394 header! Sorry Speedy, I may have wasted your time there. But you did alert me to it last night, so I give you the credit. I wouldn't have noticed otherwise. Thanks for that :) ChazTheGeek (16619)

Firewire is IEEE-1394
There is no such thing as a USB 1394 header.

1367722 2014-02-17 05:21:00 Sweet! Lucky it didnt blow the port. Both headers are 9 pin and the manual will warn you NOT to plug USB into it Speedy Gonzales (78)

Well above the first header I used was USB 1394. I guess it just confused me.

Ah, sometimes boards don't have the silkscreen directly next to the component, especially if there are some parts right next to each other. In that case they often put a list above the whole bunch of parts, with the location of the names in the list matching the physical layout of the parts.

1367725 2014-02-17 06:57:00 The weird thing is that the IEEE 1394 header is ages away... ChazTheGeek (16619)
1367726 2014-02-17 07:26:00 Maybe a labeling error then. Unfortunately sometimes it does happen! Agent_24 (57)
1367727 2014-02-18 03:04:00 Oh well :) ChazTheGeek (16619)
