I've never owned any anti virus for Mac, never used any either. It's unlikely but not impossible. There has been some 'good' malware for OSX recently, eg: Flashback and Pintsized. If the keyboard was low on power or had a stuck key wouldn't it just type the same character over and over, rather than random characters? |

It wasn't just random, the cursor moved from typing in the email to going into the subject line and continued to type. It has not occurred since thank goodness | mark1978 (13845) | ||
| 1367322 | 2014-02-11 10:25:00 | My wife was typing an email tonight when she yelled out that the computer was typing by itself. I observed that the email was being typed, lots of weird stuff, nothing recognisable but then it started to type our phone number... From 1 number being wrong it was our number. I then disconnected the internet from the Mac and started Bitdefender which is installed. No results yet as it is still scanning. It kept going aftert eh internet was disconnected, it then went in the subject line typing more nonsense. Anyone know what this it? Malware? Virus? If you want to get a really useful program for your iMac then you can get Little Snitch. It monitors all incoming and out going network traffic on your iMac and can be set to block any app from communicating with an external server. I highly recommend it :) It's a Mac only app. |
