| 1348358 | 2013-07-22 22:20:00 | Great. :) Sounds very good - exactly the same speeds we get on our Snap line! :yuck: After a lot of to-ing an fro-ing with Snap, the final outcome is they flat out will not give any of their customers VDSL if the line attenuation is over 10.8dB. Which is very annoying, as I know that we'd get better speeds with VDSL, we are wel within a Chorus VDSL area, and Telecom think we'd get around 30 down and 10 up on a line into the same building with worse stats. Turns out too, where I'm living there is some complicated setup with different people paying different parts of the bill, and they don't want to change that...even though it would save them like $20 a month, and they'd get an extra 50GB of data too, and a free master splitter... Anyway. :( |

Anyway. :( Just do it anyways then go "Oh whoops, I was only enquiring about the availability but it looks like the ISP went ahead anyways... Oh well we're on it now, too late" ;) |

From a reasonable 28 down at install at the beginning of the month, my down speed has reduced to just a 'slightly faster than ADSL2+' speed of 19 down. Up speed has remained a rock solid 10 all the way through. Got the techs looking at it... |
