| 1368165 | 2014-02-20 06:22:00 | AMD BullDozer FX-4130 3.80GHz CPU Asus M5A97 R2.0 Motherboard $404 with Intel Core i5 4440 CPU Asus B85M-E Motherboard $493 both come with 8Gb RAM and both are bundle deals on Paradigm. I have 2 desktops to rebuild mine and SWMBO's, we don't do any gaming. I render the odd video from time to time but not very often and nothing huge and a bit of CAD work with solidworks but again nothing intensive. I'm leaning towards the AMD as it has good reviews and the price is better, but I could be convinced if you really think the i5 is worth it. Cost is a consideration though I'm not rich. :thanks |

| 1368166 | 2014-02-20 06:38:00 | Both motherboards have dual graphics slots, and without gaming/video rendering at least one of those is useless. You could see if you could get one of the cores and then a cheaper mobo without so much stuff? To the core comparison, I've heard good things about the 4440's, but as you say it's more expensive and it may well not be worth it. edit: my apologies, didn't see the fact they came with the RAM. In that case I'd just go for the AMD one personally. Cheaper, and you won't notice very much difference in day-to-day stuff anyway :D |
