2014-02-13 23:53:00 | Umm so this is the lawyer's PC? The client is a lawyer? Or the lawyer received the email and told the owner of this PC what the email said? | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2014-02-13 23:55:00 | righto: the lawyer received the email and told the owner of this PC what the email said | NZHawk (4093) | |
2014-02-14 00:02:00 | Confused. So where is this PC now?? Is it with you, or the lawyer? Or are you with the lawyer now? Or did the lawyer have this PC that you posted the log from, and gave it to you to check it out??
Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
2014-02-14 00:07:00 | righto: the lawyer received the email and told the owner of this PC what the email said The only way to be 100% sure is to wipe the PC, change all passwords (email , banking etc etc ) . Dont import anything back in . either that or spend $$$ on forensic analysis & a fraud investigation . A look at that email could be worthwhile, look at email headers to see where it actually came from & what was in the request. Could it be that someone they know simply had easy access to the PC (ie not a hack/virus) ? Did they get one of those bogus phone calls wanting access to 'fix' the PC ? Do they have an Xtra/yahoo email they had been using (a hacked email a/c is possible as well) Or do they have email/webmail passwords far to simple ? Also , look in Norton360's log files (a painfull thing to try & find) . Look in email sent items.

2014-02-14 00:23:00 | You can check who has logged into their webmail, look for suspicious countries Change that password regardless , just be cover that base. help.yahoo.com
