| 1349373 | 2013-07-19 05:42:00 | I was looking at getting a Apple TV to rent HD movies on line as Quikflix are still stuck in the SD world. Was browsing thru the iTunes store for Prometheus looks like it's not for rent only sale. NZ$29.99 on the NZ store. Had a look on the US store US$9.99 (NZ$12.36) taking in account of adding GST to the NZ purchase it should be around NZ$15. $29.99 is a blatant rip off by Apple. I'm going to forget the Apple TV and keep going to my local video store.. | paulw (1826) | ||

Adobe is ripping Ozzy off the same, at one stage the Ozzy dollar was higher than the US (might still be, don't track it), except adobe suite still cost more in AU. Best option is to figure out a VPN to the states and use your Apple TV for Netflix. |

I tried on one cheap movie just to see how it works, streaming in HD works well but the downloaded file won't play in anything but the app which is a nuisance. Personally If I'm going to buy a movie I'll still get a Blu-ray disk, mighty ape and JB Hi-Fi often have them for $10-$20 and I prefer to have something physical if I'm paying for it. Personally I enjoyed Prometheus, I think people just over analyze things or go into it with high expectations. Me I just watch and accept and enjoy. Sure you can pick holes in it if you want, Newsflash people none of it is real. |

No idea why they're priced so disparately....but since US Itunes has tv shows, I'd rather use a US account anyway. |

| 1349381 | 2013-07-19 08:03:00 | One question about the Apple TV. I borrowed the box from work. Simple interface.. I assume when you rent a movie it streams in real time however if you rent it via your PC can you then stream it to the Apple TV later?? | paulw (1826) | ||

The apple tv has about 8gb internal storage which is where it's stored (I've had mine fill up once for some reason - but that was a jailbroken one). |
