261195 2004-08-13 11:32:00 I have recently installed win95 (fresh install) onto an old digital machine (300mhz, 64mb ram, 2 hdds - 4 and 8 G) It previously had NTFS partitions on both drives but i formatted these to FAT32 before installing win95.

The problem is that when I try to start the computer for the first time after the install it gets as far as the win95 splash screen and then it just turns off the entire system. (just like a powercut). It does it around the same time every time.

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this up or whats causing it?

261197 2004-08-14 03:22:00 Is it trying to come back from hibernation? With nothing to come back from? :D

Does the recovery floppy work? What recovery floppy? :O :D

Is this the first posting ever with every sentence a question?:|

261198 2004-08-14 03:57:00 If my memory serves me correctly and I might not be right but doesn't Win95 first edition have to be on a Fat16 format. Later versions of 95 and 98 went to Fat32? What version of 95 do you have? Berryb (654)
