261191 2004-08-13 11:15:00 Hi,
I'm running a dual boot Windows XP 64 Bit/XP SP1 machine and I cannot access the symantec website. I've visited a number of other websites with people who have the same problem, but none of their solutions work for me. I've downloaded a number of adware/spyware removal programs which have gotten rid of various things, but i still cannot access the website on my XP 64 boot. I still can on the normal XP version.
I have a firewall (Tiny Personal Firewall V6) and when i run liveupdate instead of connecting to the symantec site, it attempts to connect to the localhost (127.0.0.1) through the HTTP and FTP ports (80 and 21 respectively).
At the moment i'm running liveupdate on the xp version and then copying the definitions over to the 64bit version. I can download the intelligent updater files from the symantec ftp site, but they don't work with 64bit windows, and it's a big download each time.
Anyone have any ideas?

Paul

261193 2004-08-13 12:30:00 Hi,
I tried all of the suggestions on the webpage, but unfortunately everytime i try to connect to some of the other Symantec pages my browser (firefox 0.9.2) says "the connection was refused".
