261002 2004-08-12 21:12:00 I installed The Gimp image editor from this months NZ PC World cover CD. It doesn't include the Help files. Can someone please tell me where to get, and how to install them? Vince Vince (406)

261004 2004-08-12 21:27:00 I assume you are using the windows version? The following is from Gimp.org:

"The GIMP comes with extensive help files. Once you have started the program, press F1. Should you get an error message at that time, you may need to set your help browser to 'Web Browser' in the Preferences: this will tell the GIMP to use your default web browser for viewing the help pages. You may also have to install the help pages from a separate package (gimp-help), depending on how your version of the GIMP was packaged."

261005 2004-08-12 21:56:00 When I press F1 I get the message "No such file or directory".
I have been to the home page. When I followed the link to the help file download I got a folder view instead of a web page. There I found a readme file that could not be read and a folder that contained files, but no explanation about what to do with them, like where to install them. If they were even the right files?
One link from the home page asked me to download something that looked very dubious. It came jumping out as soon as the page opened with a 'Download this' dialog, just like the ones that are trying to trick you into accepting a trogen, or dialer! Vince
