261746	2004-08-14 16:42:00	I know this sounds crazy but since the WXP home updates on the 4th August I think I have the wrong version of the above. Every time I look something up the settings are now incorrect. just one example pasted below: To set a warning alarm for a low or critical battery condition Open Power Options in Control Panel. Click the Alarms tab. In Low battery alarm and Critical battery alarm, specify the settings you want by dragging the slider. Click Alarm Action to select the type of alarm notification and power level you want. Notes To open Power Options, click Start, click Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, and then click Power Options. If you want your computer to shut down when the alarm occurs, click When the alarm goes off, the computer will in the Alarm Actions dialog box. You can set a low battery alarm, a critical battery alarm, or both. Using Power Options in Control Panel, you can adjust any power management option that your computer's unique hardware configuration supports. Because these options may vary widely from computer to computer, the options described may differ from what you see. Power Options automatically detects what is available on your computer and shows you only the options that you can control. eg I dont have "Perf and Maint'' on my control panel - or anywhere else. Neither is there an Alarm menu any longer so I cant alter any settings I do have a direct listing on Control panel of Power Options but no alarm settings. Altho I used to. Does anyone else have this problem? What should i do?	Apteryx (294)
261747	2004-08-14 22:40:00	When you go to control panel on the top left you will see switch to category view or switch to classic view depending on where you have it set to. performance and maintenance is in classic view. hths	johnboy (217)
