261655 2004-08-14 09:09:00 Hi,
After eulogising elephant now come reality :-)
I have very successfully voice contacted as well as typed(chat) contacts on msn - I recently had Godfather explain about voice delay and echo

Over the last few days - long before elephant got here, found a red X in the slide volume control when invited to talk - and now the Mic slide is in shadow- what have I done ----NOW ??
:_l
I was told that if I clicked the icon on the bottom tool bar marked "C media mixer" that the mic off on switch is in there - I do NOT have such an icon
I am using XP
In my W 98 SE days I was able to turn on/mute etc, a large number of controls- now to find them would they be?

261658 2004-08-14 10:37:00 You may have to go to the menu to open up more audio controls. I'm not in Windows at the mo so can't be specific. I'm mean the dialog where you have sliders and a mute checkbox below each slider. mikebartnz (21)

261660 2004-08-14 10:53:00 I know you have win XP, but in case it is anything like Win 98 here are the steps for that.

Right click speaker icon*open volume controls*options*properties*click the options you want where it says "choose the following volume controls".

261661 2004-08-14 11:58:00 In WinXP.

Start, Control Panel, Sounds and Audio devices and Audio Tab what devices do you have listed under sound recording?

While I was at your place today never heard a sound out of anything.
Bear in mind I did not check this and turned off computer and opened box to insert RAM. Both cables were pulled from mic and speakers so I could get at the box.
