I believe Mandrake 9.2 ships with a firewall, and this may be blocking XP's access to samba. Have a look under the Mandrake Control Centre at the firewall settings and make sure Samba is selected. If neither box can see each other, try running testparm from a console window which will validate the smb.conf file. Also try the command smbstatus to make sure the samba service is running. I presume both boxes can ping each other? |
