261282 2004-08-13 13:09:00 Hi,

I sighed up with orcon today for their free homepage thing today. Having finished the setup, I then uploaded my website files via FTP, and in doing so replaced their original 'placeholder' index.html file. However, when I try to access my site I get the orcon homepage instead of my site, and even when I tried to access it before uploading my files their placeholder file failed to diaplay - I got the homepage. Any ideas on what might be wrong?

Or put make copies of your index.html page and call them index.htm, home.html, and home.htm to see which one is displayed

btw, do you have any GMail invites left you don't mind giving me?

261288 2004-08-13 13:43:00 Hi there

First off ensure your new index.html file is in the 'htdocs' folder.

Also make sure the name is 'index.html', not .htm ot upper case .HTML

As mentioned earlier it may take a while to get the site into their system.

261290 2004-08-13 13:51:00 Try default.html Rob99 (151)
261291 2004-08-13 13:56:00 No, that doesn't work either. I think it's meant to be 'index.html' though, as that is the standard for web servers, also that was the name of their placeholder file that I replaced.
