Yep. Actually I'd love a hyperthreading P4 for FS2004 (although FS2004 probably doesn't take advantage of it). You've just gotta have that scenery updating smoothly. :p

Of course what I meant to say, but probably didn't use enough words, was that you don't need a mega pc to do trivial computing tasks (and I'm talking to people who can't tell their hard drive from their computer case). However if you do video editing (or photo editing ;)) then go for it.

I think need to turbocharge my 2.4GHz P4 :^O

261691 2004-08-15 01:53:00 This thread is to say thankyou and acknowledge Elephants decency . Good man and well done .

Why Kiki posted at all is beyond me . No generosity of spirit at all .

And Metla - don't you and our pachydermous friend have an understanding? You don't show him yours and he doesn't show you his .

I well remember your help for Beetle . You were kind and helpful . How would you have felt if someone had responded by criticising you?

261692 2004-08-15 01:59:00 Well said to all you positive chaps.

261693 2004-08-15 02:00:00 I wouldn't have cared less,

And while i have asked Ele to ignore my posts in the past he contines to make posts complety out of left feild full of petty bizarre waffle in the hope of starting an argument.

261695 2004-08-15 02:20:00 Nice one Elephant, nice to know there are people out there that aren't totally mercenary.

Also it is nice of Effie to give recognition of this good deed.

261696 2004-08-15 02:49:00 > kiki, I think you ought to make a trunk call to elephant and apologise for your unnecessary rudeness, but before you make it, you should also pause and reflect on all the help you received with your monitor problem, without one word of criticism or any suggestion you were at fault.

> Agree with Spencer.
> The response from kiki was unwarranted, arrogant and rude.
> elephant has done a great service for a PF1 member, and all kiki can do is try to denigrate him via a thread that is made simply to express the recipient's thanks.
> That offends not only elephant and effie C, but all the other people that come here for help. Shame on you kiki.

> Why Kiki posted at all is beyond me. No generosity of spirit at all.

Why should I apologise at all? This was a continuance of Elephant's rudeness over in this thread (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz). Read my 11th post down, where I politely suggested Elephant might like to try PCMark04 out to see if he got any better performance out of NTFS.

> "Elephant, you should run PCMark04 on that thing and do some hard disk tests with the partition as Fat32 and again when you converted to NTFS. I think you'll notice some rather significant performance increase."

Then after that Elephant posted a complete rant about people should not tell him how to run his machine. :O Who is the one being rude now?

261697 2004-08-15 03:31:00 Grow up kiki, if you didn't like what elephant said or did, if it was necessary to respond at all the correct place to do it was in that thread, not by hijacking somebody else's thanks to elephant for his kindness.

This petty nyah nyah playground stuff is for kids before they learn what life is really about. Rise above it guys. Don't sweat the petty things, and don't pet the sweaty things. This could also apply to Metla.

261698 2004-08-15 03:50:00 Well done Elephant, that was very generous of you. I have no doubt that Eddie will have much appreciation of your kind deed every time he uses his computer. :-)

BTW Elephant, I have not forgotten your other very generous offer two or three years ago. Will not give details here but I think you will remember the one. You have a heart of gold, no matter what others may think of you. :-)

261699 2004-08-15 04:13:00 This thread was posted to thank Elephant for his kindness in giving the RAM & fitting it in the computer.
It was no place for snide comments from anyone else about anything else.
It's a question of knowing what constitutes good manners - or growing up - or possibly both.
I too congratulate Elephant on his unprompted generosity to another PF1er.
