| 261468 | 2004-08-14 03:18:00 | Have been using the microphone fine but now when go into Control Panel/Sounds/Voice Recording – shows Realtek AC97 Audio – click volume and get “Windows cannot execute SndVol32.exe” – also “Advanced” is greyed out! What has happened to stuff this up and suggestions how to fix it? XP Proffessional Many thanks |

| 261472 | 2004-08-14 23:02:00 | To check if windows audio service is running go start/control panel/administrative tools/services and scrool down to windows audio service then right click on it and see that it is set to automatic and that it is started. if it is disabled or stopped you won't have any sound . hth |

| 261474 | 2004-08-15 00:13:00 | Do a search for sndvol32.exe click start and type sndvol32.exe in the search pane you should come up with two c:\windows\system32 c:\windows\system32\dllcache double click on the first on and see what happens maybe they are corrupted see the following article on how to restore them here (support.microsoft.com) |
