| 262270 | 2004-08-16 09:02:00 | Hi all, I was wondering if you guys could help me. I'm having a strange problem. a few days ago, I could use Word and Excel without any problem, but today, I have no idea why when I use Word ( i type the character U, I, O , P, or K, M they become 5,4,7,9,6 ) what on earth is that? I haven't seen anything like this before. Any suggestions would be highly appreaciated! I need my laptop to study. My laptop is a Sony Vaio PCG-VX88P, I tried to download an inbuilt keyboard driver but found nothing on the Vaio website. Thanks heaps in advance! Cheers! |

Word will create a new normal.dot template. If this does not fix the problem then rename normal.old back to normal.dot and delete the new normal.dot. You will loose all the formatting etc that you have put on your docs before if you want to create any new docs in a previously created format, so be careful before deleting normal.old or you can never go back. Read this carefully. Post back if you have questions. |

| 262274 | 2004-08-16 12:10:00 | Its not normal.dot. Those keys are the number keys on a laptop keyboard, toggled by NumLock. All laptops of recent (and many earlier) years have the feature. |
