262254 2004-08-16 09:19:00 What email client do you use. Many have calendars and task scedules built in with various reimnder methods including an email to yourself at a given time, repeated if necessary. Thunderbird for eg. Calenar Extension (update.mozilla.org) and/or QuickNote Extension (http://quicknote.mozdev.org/)

262257 2004-08-16 11:30:00 Hi,
I use Calenz, which appears when you first start up, then fades and rests in the taskbar. Has some really neat skins, isn't huge and in your face, can be as transparent as you like, can download a file which also puts in NZ holidays and Public Hols, can insert appointments etc in monthly, yearly, same day each month, or same day each week. I hardly notice it there, until it pops up to remind me. Very modern, not your usual square box style. It's also free.

It here if you want to take a look www.calenz.com

262259 2004-08-16 13:55:00 I endorse johnboy's recommendation of Multi Reminders
I downloaded it a few weeks ago & have found it a really nifty system - basically because it's very simple..

You add a reminder - in wording that you choose - up to a year ahead. There's a calendar to help. (Easy to load all of the family birthdays & anniversaries & forget them until the time comes)
You decide how many days ahead you want to be notified.
Then reminders bob up at every bootup until you delete them as Done.

So far it's keeping me jogged about appointments for dentist, doctor, optometrist & out of town visitors - plus of course due dates for household bills.
No doubt there are others which do the same, but I can vouch for this one as problem-free & easy.

Hi Marg.

Your second attempt worked perfectly, so you know how to do it ok. :)

Re you first try, when you want to show a full web address that will open when clicked on, there is no need to use any brackets at all.

Your first link didn't work because the first set of brackets was closed like this * [u r l = ] *. The site was waiting for a web address after the * = *sign, but didn't get one.

In a long winded way you could have forced it to work like this:
[u r l = and type the web address here ] then type the web address again here [/ u r l ]

The second typed web address would have become the live link to click on, but as I said above, no brackets would have achieved the same result.

Where extra long web addresses are involved though, it is better to use brackets as it might not work when the word wrap feature occurs.

Cheers.

262261 2004-08-16 14:17:00 Hey thanks for that exLL, :-)

It's a really handy feature. This is the second time I've screwed it up.
I got it right finally by copying the example in formatting options then pasting it into the reply box. Then just changed the site to what I wanted and the "here" to show up on post.

Will also be putting it into my AZZ Cardfile and then just doing a paste from then on.
