262053 2004-08-15 23:12:00 Hi.
Have got a Belkin Miniscroller Optical Mouse F8E882-OPT v.4.0 but the driver is on a floppy disk.
But my notebook hasn't got a floppy disk drive. I contacted Belkin who emailed me a driver v.1.0 , an earlier version which does not enable me to use all of its functions, esp. the one-touch zoom control, and I suspect it may not function on Windows XP.

Also have a yellow triangle with black exclamation mark inside it , sitting beside "Serial" under "Non-plug and play drivers" in System Details. But figure it has to do with WindowsXP insisting on using it's own drivers.

Has anyone got a Belkin Optical Mouse and is prepared to email me the correct driver?

Other option is to put floppy disk containing correct driver in someone else's computer. My Brother a few paddocks away has a floppy drive on his computer. But what is the right way to do it or is it possible to do it?

Can a computer have a floppy disk in at the same time as a CD, and copy from one to the other.

OR do I ---

Copy from floppy to a folder on the desktop, and then onto the CD.

Appreciate any advice you can give me.
regards Marg.

262054 2004-08-15 23:30:00 If you have access to a desktop pc or any pc with a floppy disk drive, use the driver that you have on floppy and send yourself an email with the correct driver.

Good luck.

262056 2004-08-16 01:09:00 Thanks bk . t .
Didn't even think of sending it to myself, yet last night I was sick of OExpress telling me about a spellcheck error . Had read a previous post about it and to get the . dll file I went to the NZ Women's Weekily On-line site and they had a link which started the file download right away . To test if it was working I sent myself an email . [The error message doesn't come up until you send the email . ] There are certain pathways in my brain that really need to merge .

And thanks Murray,
Have downloaded the file, found the one that applies to my mouse, but it still says 1 . 0, yet I got a floppy with the mouse that has 4 . 0 on it . Will try the copying and emailing route as the earlier version may not work as well . Aside from that its a great little mouse, really fast, and now that I've tried optical, I"ll never go back to the "mouse and ball" . But have also bookmarked the links in case I need it again .

Regards, Marg . :-)
