| 262032 | 2004-08-15 11:55:00 | What is the biggest file that you have downloaded in one go? And the biggest you have sent ? By dial up or broadband? A friend told me that she would download huuuuge files all night, even before she got broadband. Then another friend emailed me today to ask if the movie I sent her (legal - I filmed a guest speaker and put it on DVD) could be emailed to Germany. Seeing that it is around 2 gigs, you can guess my reply to her. So this got me to wonder if huge files are actually sent/downloaded???? |

| 262036 | 2004-08-15 12:28:00 | About 1.2Gig on dialup. Did it over several nights as I couldn't use the line during the day. Did another of about 1.2Gig and I had about 300MB to go when they moved the site and killed the resume so turned out to be a waste of time. When it comes to dialup it would almost be faster to send the DVD to Germany than use dialup. | mikebartnz (21) | ||

Depending on the length and if you used DivX compression, you could easily get that down to under 500mb with hardly any quality loss. Then if you used say Filetopia, it wouldn't take more than a week. |

| 262038 | 2004-08-15 14:46:00 | My biggest single file is a 704MB ISO - And Ive done heaps of them! Overnight is best, especially if one of you can setup FileZilla Server (Means you can resume and multi-thread the download and to get maximum speeds). |
