262216 2004-08-16 06:36:00 I have been using open office for about a year and have been very impressed with what the Open source community has to offer. However, I have a just installed the latest Microsoft Office and I wish to open some files from Open office (.swx) in Microsoft Word.
Is there a file filter I can download from somewhere so I can open Open office documents (.swx) in microsoft word?

thanks for any help

262217 2004-08-16 06:44:00 If it is only a couple of documents, you can open them up in OOo and then choose "Save As" and then pick "Save as type" and select MS 97/2000/XP (.doc) to covert the document to a MS compatible format. Jen C (20)

262219 2004-08-16 07:27:00 Have a look at this converter here (www.ooomacros.org) - it should be able to do .swx to .doc. I would practice with a few copies of your documents first. Jen C (20)
