262013 2004-08-15 10:20:00 I have been checking msconfig as suggested to me in another thread. Along with office startup and some programs there is also something called "annie".
What is this please ?

I tried checking PressF1 search and got "Gentle Annie" washing machines !

Tried checking Google and might be able to find out by joining Cybertech and other Tech sites but getting in the too complicated (unless last resort) basket.
One site looks very promising and includes the phrase
>>>"WIN.INI je viens de
>>>m'apercevoir que j'avais un dossier (coché) appelé annie.....Qui est-ce >>>???? ... " >
------ Nevertheless my schoolboy French is a bit rusty.

There is also something on another site about "shemales" - but don't want to go there.

Anyone come across this please ?

262014 2004-08-15 10:38:00 You say "annie" but is it "annie.exe". If so do a search for it on your pc then right click it and go to properties. Within that you should be able to find out who makes the program on the version page. mikebartnz (21)
262015 2004-08-15 10:49:00 Hi Mike
It just says [annie]. I just did a search for "annie" and also "annie.exe", but nothing resulted from either.

I noticed that [annie] has + to the left so clicked on it and got a list of files, starting
Capture File =
Video Device = 0

plus others including
SnapshotMode= -2

Misty

PS - Please excuse me as must be off to bed as am up at 5am tomorrow.
Be glad to hear from you though !!

262016 2004-08-15 11:01:00 It could be quite harmless but I could not guarantee that. mikebartnz (21)
262017 2004-08-15 11:55:00 It looks like something to do with your video card or have you some type of screen capture software installed

262018 2004-08-16 07:59:00 Hi Johnboy
I do, as it happens. It is
www.geocities.com

It is called "Printkey 2000"

I see that it is on trial for 40 days but I have never used it since the first trial.
Will delete and see what happens ! Will let you know.
thanks
Misty :)

262019 2004-08-16 08:40:00 Hi Johnboy
Have deleted but after re-booting [annie] still shows

It's makeup is similar to what you outline - ie

CaptureFile=0
VideoDevice=0
AudioDevice=0
FrameRate=667111

UseFrameRate =1
CaptureAudio=0
CapWithAoxlPXL=1
WantPreview=0
MasterStream=-1
SnapshotDest=1
SnapshotMode=-2

Hope that makes some sense! Don't know why the bold highlighting above is appearing. Have tried for about 15 mins to get rid of it - but it just stays there.
