262587 2004-08-17 10:59:00 Hi, I made a post a few days ago, about not being able to connect to liveupdate. After further investigations I find that instead of connecting to the internet thought my network adaptor, it tries to connect to 127.0.0.1 on loopback.
I've uninstalled/re-installed and done nearly everything under the sun to try and make it work, but it still isn't. Bugger

262589 2004-08-17 11:55:00 Have you got Zone Alarm installed. I had that problem a while ago. I un-installed it, then ran various registry cleaners & re-installed it & all was well. phil.b (4456)

Are you trying to use a non microsoft internet browser to get to the update site. If so try internet explorer also i would agree with a earlier post, Zone Alarm has been known to cause this problem also. I believe Zone labs are aware of this and have a solution in their FAQ on this.

When you try to connect to liveupdate, do you get an error message, eg LU1803 Liveupdate failed while getting your updates, or Liveupdate had an internal error while getting your updates?

This is the symantec search page (search.symantec.com) also There have been a few threads on this same problem on this site recently have a look i think they were fixed if i remember correctly. If you get a error message put the error number if you get one in the search page.
