262574 2004-08-17 11:14:00 Hi,
I've got a Socket 754 Soltek K8N-RL motherboard which runs a nForce 3 150 chipset. I've never had any problems with it, but from all the results i've been seeing, the KT 800 slightly outperforms that, but then the nForce 3 250 outperforms the VIA chipset. Really it just depends on how much you want to pay.

it really depends what you want to do with your motherboard? If your into overclocking then your only real option is motherboard based on the nForce3 250, this is a new version of the nForce3 150 that offers news features such as RAID, Gigabit Ethernet and hardware Firewall. One of the nForce3 250's benefit over the nForce3 150 & K8T800 is that it has the ability to lock the PCI/AGP frequency which is a big benefit when overclocking.

VIA has recently released the K8T800pro which is a newer version of the K8T800 that is suppose to have a working PCI/AGP lock, but doesnt.

If money isnt too much of a problem look for a board based on the nForce3 250GB as it has lots of features, top preformance and a working AGP/PCI lock.

If your not into overclocking you cant really go wrong with either a nForce3 250 or VIA k8T800pro motherboard. Stay away from the older chipset such as the nForce3 150 and VIA K8T800 as they're problematic, lacking features and dont preform aswell.

The Microstar K8N NEO Platinum seem to currently be the best socket 754 motherboard avaliable.

WTF is a "preform" ?

Should be:
perform

Let's spell it again:
P - E - R - F - O - R - M

Note the E comes before the R.

WTF is "aswell" ?

Should be:
as well

Let's spell it again:
A - S__W - E - L - L

Note the two words, not one.

That concludes our spelling lesson for tards lesson #1.

You should write a FAQ '); //-- > ....... semi-colon with a wink and two crooked smiles, hmm I wonder, what does that signify.

It signifies the mental spasm I go through when I see a spalling mistake. :D
