262449 2004-08-17 04:14:00 Telecom has Suspended UBS for the time being. They have expressed surprise at the Commerce Commissions criticism of their wholesale UBS offering, doh!

Juha (computerworld.co.nz) has a few words on it.

262452 2004-09-14 10:49:00 Hmm, interesting, but I must say it looks to be a pretty poor effort at first look.

Peak traffic is 8am to 12am but they use off peak time to make up a total cap of 2GB, IGB for each period. 2GB is pretty useless for any "broadband" service as if you are just browsing and email then 256kb isn't sufficiently faster than 128kb to make that much diff. Ok, 128 will shortly be getting the chop so my point could be considered moot, now you can see why Telecom had to discontinue it, with the new UBS offerings there would not be sufficient incentive to move if 128 was still available.

Excellent,

I do have some vague recollection of a post by someone labeled as an "Anti Telecom ranter" to the effect of the quote.

262455 2004-09-16 00:26:00 So realistically you could get your first two months, maybe three on the smaller 2gb plan with Ihug and then switch to the heavier usage plan and save yourself twenty bucks :D Chilling_Silence (9)
262456 2004-09-16 00:29:00 Excuse my french, but how BL**DY typical of the piratanical monopolistic BULLSH***ING Pratts we have come to know as telecom, they are just stalling. They were never happy about having to provide adsl to the other ISPs. Whats the bet that XTRA will be able to do everything all the other ISPs won't be able to do. GRRRRRRRRRR :D Odin (227)
