Under that act, the retailer who sold you the product must deal with the problem, not head office. If repairs have failed tow or three times already - you are entitled to have it replaced free of charge - or your money refunded. They CANNOT fob you off to "Head Office" - he sold it - he deals with it. YOu are also entitled under the act to take it to someone else to repair and send DSE the bill. Just let them know (in writing preferably) that you are going to take this action, and they really have no comeback. Next step - Disputes Tribunal lol CharlieBoy (5920)
262870 2004-08-19 04:34:00 Jeez Jack, how big do you want it to be? I shop there from time to time and it is quite a reasonable size. If you want to see small, you need to see the Karangahape Road shop in Auckland.

Cheers

262871 2004-08-19 05:59:00 all managers have the right to effect repairs/replacements or refunds, for a manager to say otherwise, is praying you'll just go away.

if you still have the reciept for the printer, then there is no reason not to go to another DSE.

just follow Billy Ts 3Ps.

262872 2004-08-19 06:37:00 You are covered under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

I agree, best course of action is the manager, demand it, don't take no crap from no little sales boy.

Remember your 3 R's: Repair, replament or refund.

262873 2004-08-20 05:24:00 Good News. I think.
They are sending me a replacement printer. Of course it has to come from another branch so it will probably take another week.
