263161 2004-08-19 03:02:00 Hi fellow F1ers,

I am a member of a few forums. This is my favourite forum so I will post my question here. (Buckman, did you read this?)

In almost all the forums, I read "Thats my two cents" after someone gives so advice.

We don't have two cents any more. What does this mean? Is it some forum jargon? Or is there a Anti-Microsoft fund scheme going on that I have missed out on?

263162 2004-08-19 03:09:00 Nowt v complicated. Just means like IMHO, a sort of disclaimer saying "hey don't shoot me. I can't even play the piano." mark c (247)
263163 2004-08-19 03:10:00 yeath, in a way it is forum jargon, I think it means it is they option or something like that

Hope this sort helps :)

263164 2004-08-19 03:22:00 The saying is older then moses's grandfater, its not forum jargon as such but just an old expression.

It means to submit your input, even if its close to worthless,or might be considered wothless.

Hah! I'm sure if he wasn't busy praising Allah that this is your favourite forum he would've responded by now.

The english in this thread is atrocious, however metla clearly sums it up.

263166 2004-08-19 03:37:00 And calling people out (especially the head cheese) by their last name is disrespectful.

Although calling someone the head cheese is probally disresctful as well.

Just my 2 cents.

263167 2004-08-19 03:49:00 Metla, Didn't mean to be disrespectful, but I like people calling my my last name. It makes me sound like a celebrity.

I understand the two cents now. Shouldn't we start trying to make a habit of giving 5 cents as we don't have two cents in New Zealand.

Thats my 5 cents :D

263170 2004-08-19 04:01:00 If you're not afraid of someone re-valuing your NSHO back to $0.01, take a shot, but then, why not call it your 50 cents worth ? ;)
