263972 2004-08-21 07:12:00 Hi all, I have the words "DVD multirecorder" on the disc tray of my D drive, does this mean I can record in both DVD-R/DVD-RW and DVD+R/DVD+RW ?. I am curious as I have recorded videos on both types of disc and they play fine. I was told in store that they are 2 different play/record formats and players/recorders that can do both are ponly just out in the shops.

the words on the tray are thus: DVD disc rewriteable DVD Multi Recorder CD Rewriteable

all in one line. I am just curious about this and would appreciate peoples opinion on this.

263973 2004-08-21 07:24:00 Depends what the brand of the burner is. It should have come with a manual with what it is capable of doing. Or if you have Nero, use Infotool which is part of it, to see its capabilities. Spacemannz (808)
263974 2004-08-21 07:52:00 thanks for that, it came with an on hard drive manual, and with some searching found this, the recording software is Sonic Record Now and the drive is as follows:

HL-dt-st DVDRAM GSA-404OB(D:) Host:3 ID:0Lun:0

type: cd-rw/dvd-rw/dvd+rw/dvd-ram

superlink, cd text read/write

so I think I have my answer......thanks

www.digit-life.com

If you go down to the Nerotool info, the ticks is what it supports
