| 263766 | 2004-08-21 10:12:00 | Further reply. I did in fact get both a definitions and English help file earlier today. First time I have been offered updates to the English help file. | Elephant (599) | ||

Now this is getting to be really interesting. I thought I was going to Spybot ( which says 11 Aug) and will now have a look at Major Geeks. What fun ... T |

| 263768 | 2004-08-21 10:25:00 | I just got an update Checked last night as I usually do but nothing was nothing available. Checked again when I saw this thread and just picked up new detection rules and english help file from the safer-networking #1 Europe mirror both for 20-08-04 And if you want REALLY INTERESTING Norton antivirus 2004 picked up two diallers and two trojans in my files last night. Whats REALLY INTERESTING about it is that the offending files have been sitting on my drive since OCT 2003. Before anyone comments NO I didn't change the sweep settings, it's updated twice a week etc. Hmm and Spybot missed them as well. Go figure! Can't trust the free ones not the paid ones so it seems. |

Have you considered if these offending files have been resident on a partition for roughly ten months and have not actually caused harm then these files may not actually contain viruses or trojans. False positives maybe. > Go figure! > Can't trust the free ones not the paid ones so it > seems. |

False positives maybe. Two were executables, except I have never executed them. Well I did last night , both shot dead, then hung drawn and quartered. False positives, who knows I wasn't running them to find out! |

| 263773 | 2004-08-21 11:13:00 | All rather murky with the updates. I think I will now pour out stiff single malt and contemplate the infinite... Cheers all Tony |
