264573 2004-08-23 09:52:00 I love these Cdroms. Weren't Corel good giving them away to anyone who wanted them, about 5 years ago? I am still enjoying looking at the photos after 5 years. There are actually 40,000 photos on the second CDrom, which means that the clarity of the pictures is not too good, but the photographic composition of the photos is excellent. I export them to jpg format as the program allows and use them in My Pictures screen saver. Well done Corel! ssssss (2100)

264575 2004-08-24 05:08:00 Hi Rob99,
I actually did most of my tramping 30 years ago.
I haven't done much since then due to illness. So don't know much about present hut conditions. The prices have gone up enormously of course. 30 years ago most of the huts were free.
I used to love the Heaphy track. I have walked it several times in winter.
Behind Mt Arthur on the Tablelands is also interesting and very scenic.
I have been on the Wangapeka a few times. More demanding than the Heaphy.
The ATNP is excellent scenicly, and a nice atmosphere, although a lot of people use it now. Very easy walking conditions on the coast route. I did do that again a few years ago. I took a tent, to avoid the crowded huts.
The Queen Charlotte walkway is also not difficult, and very scenic, but no huts.
Hope that helps. Actually wherever you go the bush is brilliant, although it is best to go when the weather forecast is good, I would say.

264576 2004-08-24 05:25:00 I havent been bush for a while either 2-3 years due to starting our family. Unfortunatly over this time without even realizing I have been packing on the pounds, not much but enough. My brother is comming back from abroard for a couple of weeks and wants to go tramping, he actually suggested we climb mount Arthur on our 4-5 day tramp. Silly as it sounds I am looking forward to some long hard days on the trail. Rob99 (151)
