265281 2004-08-25 09:31:00 I installed SP 2 yesterday and now my pc won't boot. I have put the repair disc in as instructed on screen and have now got to the C:/windows prompt.... how can i start windows from here. I did a system restore point prior to the install and will turn the clock back if only I can get into windows.

Please help.

265282 2004-08-25 19:58:00 have you tried pressing f8 on boot then select "last known good configuration" beama (111)
265283 2004-08-25 21:39:00 I did that and it continues to say that the biosinfo.inf file is corrupted or missing. Using the recovery disc that came with the computer I can get to a dos c:\windows prompt, but don't know how to start windows from there.

Any advice would be very welcome.

265284 2004-08-25 22:38:00 Are you at the Repair console? If so you can press F1 to get a list of commands to type that will carry out various actions like fixmbr, restore, repair , etc, be very carefull though. Have a look at the SP2 Troubleshooting (support.microsoft.com) Installation section first.
