| 264997 | 2004-08-24 20:48:00 | Hi, i have WinAmp version5, and i have noticed if play a mp3 from the network (a comp with win98se)..it lags a little before playing and then it flashes as it starts playing. my comp is win2000 sp4. Whats going on? why does it do this? |

| 264998 | 2004-08-24 22:07:00 | It may be playing the file before the lot is cached and it is getting some lag on the network. I don't use Winamp but there is probably a setting to cache more % of the file or all of it before playback commences, ie, hold it in memory, un-compress it then play, so it doesn't catch up with itself then have to wait for more to be transferred over the network and uncompressed. Make sense?? How much RAM has the machine got? Cheers Murray P |
