1369105 2014-03-02 07:31:00 Hi guys,

Having an issue with my new PC build (Windows 8.1 x64) whereby my Logitech MX Performance wireless mouse lags and stutters at random intervals while doing a variety of tasks. Does anyone know of a fix? There seems to be a lot of information relating to the RC version of Windows 8.1, but I can't find anything conclusive.

1369106 2014-03-02 07:43:00 Maybe similar to this?? (michael.msurowiecki.pl) How far is the mouse from the receiver? Speedy Gonzales (78)

1369108 2014-03-02 21:11:00 Thanks Speedy - have moved the dongle to a front USB port to see if this helps. One thought I did have is whether the PCI wifi card may be interfering with the dongle? Presumably they both run at 2.4Ghz? nofam (9009)
1369109 2014-03-02 21:19:00 FWIW I have the same setup MX mouse, Win 8.1, 64bit and it runs without problem. Your Logitech unifying software is up to date? CliveM (6007)

Hi Clive, no, I must admit I'm just using the default drivers that Windows installed - that's a excellent point. Will check this out tonight

1369111 2014-03-03 09:36:00 I think I've found the culprit - I'd somehow failed to notice that Device Manager was reporting an issue with the SM Bus Controller - installed the latest chipset drivers for my motherboard, and the jerky issue seems to have stopped.

Next question - is it advisable to download the generic Nvidia drivers for my GPU chipset (GTX650) or should I wait for the manufacturer-specific version (Gigabyte GV-N650OC-2GI)? Gigabyte just seems to be a wee way behind in terms of updating this.
