1369003 2014-02-28 05:18:00 For a long time I have connected a Dell Laptop Windows 7 (from work) and a home MacBook Air (2013 - Mavericks) via HDMI.
The monitor is usually attached to my desktop PC via DVI and working is OK (hence the post now).

Yesterday, I connected the HDMI cable (permanently attached to the monitor) to the Dell Laptop and pressed the 'SOURCE' button.
This time I did not get an HDMI pop-up on the screen. Usually I just toggle between DVI, HDMI.

I think I have the latest driver (running Windows 8.1 with all updates).

No idea how to fix this?
I tried another HDMI cable and there was no difference.

I never get the Source changing to HDMI, I get a black screen and then it automatically reverts back to DVI.
Tried looking through the monitor settings but had no luck.

So far I have assumed the HDMI port on the monitor is the problem because I have tried 2 separate laptops (as mentioned in my post).

1369006 2014-03-05 03:54:00 Oh, I interpreted it as the Macbook working but not the Dell. Agent_24 (57)

I have re-read my post and nowhere did I say the MacBook Air no longer worked.
To be clear, both do not work.

I apologise for not being clearer in my post.

1369008 2014-03-05 04:56:00 Well I would say you are right, if you've tried 2 different laptops and a new cable, it's most likely the TV. Either the port has been physically damaged or something in the input circuitry may be stuffed. Agent_24 (57)
