| 1368677 | 2014-02-25 05:25:00 | So, I got tired of being nagged about my out-of-date Firefox browser so I updated to the version on the last PCW DVD. The instal went fine, but when I opened Google the left-screen menu that included Maps & Images etc was gone. Images could be found ok but maps were nowhere to be found. In a boot-strap exercise I used Google to find Google Maps and set up a desktop icon for future access, but why can't I see it on the opening screen as before? Cheers Billy 8-{) |

| 1368679 | 2014-02-25 07:53:00 | The issue is Google itself. When opened it used to have a menu at the top left that included Google Maps, Gmail and Images. The menu is now on the right and has +You, Gmail, & Images. I have no idea what +You is supposed to be! I'm not worried about being out of date, I only updated because the nagging got on my wick, otherwise in all respects it was operating just fine for me. I didn't update before because of previous hassles getting everything going properly again. I never open Firefox at all to be honest, all my browsing starts and ends with Google. Cheers Billy 8-{) :groan: |

As a web developer I always make sure I'm up to date to avoid hassles with old technology getting in the way ;) |

Updating to an out of date version will surely result in the same situation of being asked to update. |

| 1368684 | 2014-02-25 23:48:00 | Updating to a new browser version means that Google is now able to supply you with their updated website which would previously have been incompatible with your old browser version. | Agent_24 (57) | ||
| 1368685 | 2014-02-26 00:38:00 | I get the old one here at work on IE8, think I prefer it. I'm stuck with the old browser here, our IT department does not update quickly. | dugimodo (138) | ||
| 1368686 | 2014-02-26 00:59:00 | Yeah I don't much care for the new one either. That drop-down menu which automatically shrinks when you start scrolling and thus interferes with the actual scrolling is moronic. | Agent_24 (57) | ||
