1368528 2014-02-23 10:43:00 I know this is not computer related, but I know there is a lota smart people out there.
I have a ZTE V795, so called, smart phone. (www.gsmarena.com)
It comes up and tells me an app needs to be updated.
So I tell it to and it says, not enough room :badpc:
I have a mini sd card, in it, with not much on it, so any idea why it says that or is there some other way?
I tried to download an app, today and said same thing.
:thanks

1368529 2014-02-23 19:09:00 If you have any non essential stuff on your phone like photos or music then I'd move that to the SD card so you can clear some space for the update.

How much Storage space have you got on your phone?

1368530 2014-02-23 20:16:00 have a read of this it might help forums.androidcentral.com

Basically apps generally can't be installed to a removable SD card so it has no effect on available space for them. Moving things as Webdevguy suggested is the easiest way to create some space.

1368531 2014-02-23 21:07:00 Thanks Webdevguy & Dugimodo.
I read what Dugimodo page said and, I'm afraid, I still have no idea as to what I'm supposed to do.
Instruction that comes with the phone, is basic, to the extreme.
But, I guess, young people know all about them anyways.
I just don't understand it, at all.

1368532 2014-02-23 21:31:00 The 2nd half of that page has better instructions than I'd normally give, did you try any of them?

Summarised version;

Remove any old apps you don't use
Delete old text messages
Move any photo's or music etc onto the SD card or transfer them to a PC and delete them
Go into the settings menu, then applications, use the clear cache option on any apps that you suspect may be using up space - or just go through them all and do it.

1368533 2014-02-23 21:40:00 I just looked up the tech specs of the phone and apparently the actual handset only has 1 MB of memory which is pathetic since that 1MB of memory is also responsible for storing the Android OS that actually runs the phone. The 4GB SD card is for storing all of your non essential applications. You can buy a 32GB SD card of you need to.

Instructions for clearing the on board memory if it gets too full;
The handset can store up to 1000 SMS and MMS messages. After this the allocated memory will be full. You cannot receive any more SMS or MMS messages until you delete some.

Please go to your Inbox, Sent and Drafts and delete some messages to free up more memory space.

The SMS centre can store your incoming messages and will send you a message pending notification. In order to receive the SMS Pending on Network message you need to have less than 1000 messages stored and more than 1M of free handset memory.

TIPS

It is good practice to periodically clean out the SMS Inbox, Sent and Drafts locations
Go to File Manager > Info. to see handset memory usage and free space available
You can use Join ME to archive messages onto a computer

Just my 2cents but the phone sounds like a low priced piece of crap

1368534 2014-02-23 21:48:00 Another problem I also have, is when I plug phone into computer USB it does show on My computer anymore.
I'm sure when I first got phone, it did.
Computer makes noises when I plug in and unplug, but nothing comes up on drives.

Well, in a way it is a (phone sounds like a low priced piece of crap).
It was a, back to school special, with about $100 off retail.
Says it has a 2 year warranty, so can't be all that bad, can it?

That means that your computer is not detecting the phone

This (www.zte.co.nz pdf) might be what you need to do

BTW Id suggest trading it in or selling it on trade me and getting something decent when you sort this problem out. Your phone sounds like a piece of crap.

1368537 2014-02-23 22:12:00 +1 to what Webdevguy says. Time to upgrade. From my experience a lot of people buy a cheap entry level smart phone and after a couple of months realize it's limitations. Lack of storage space is one of them.. paulw (1826)
