1350679 2013-08-06 07:34:00 That's what happens when you become a bloated corporate. Customer Service is mouthed about but the real focus is money.

Both Fonterra and The NZ govt are blithely thinking it won't matter, everyone will get over it and our filthy country can carry on flogging food to the world.

Well I doubt it. I think the **** has hit the fan now - rather than just floating about in our waters.

Well, NZ isn't clean but it sure is green. Cow **** green.

I agree. I posted this on the other side:

"Fonterra has made the mistake of resting on its laurels, cruising on the momentum achieved by its own critical mass"

Yes weird that the populace wants a clean country yet still wants a dictator in the beehive

1350684 2013-08-06 21:03:00 I'm staying out of the politics of it.

But as to our clean/ green image it's always been bullshit. We have the good fortune to be a small population in a narrow windswept group of islands far away from other sources of pollution, that's the only reason we live in a relatively clean environment.
We pollute as badly as most countries, we just produce less due to our population and the wind carries it away.

I've been to some 'homes' in Otahuhu - the conditions are horrible, don't understand how they can live in such a condition! It's just shocking to see that!

Ive heard horror stories as well, cutting a hole in the kitchen floor & just dumping all the rubbish under the house !!!!!!
this sort of thinking is common . Even seen a whole Truckload of rubbish just dumped in the middle of the road . Often see truckloads of rubbish dumped on the side of rural roads
Ive worked for a company the promoted themselves as Clean & Green , even was printed on their box's. They asked me to tip 40gals of industrial waste down
the stormwater drain
Recycling is a dirty dirty business, it produces some really nasty, highly concentrated waste, that we sometime send overseas to get rid of quietly.. About time everyone realized that recycling is not green at all, and doesnt make the issue of waste go away . It just makes us feel better
