1350598 2013-08-06 07:07:00 That's a bit harsh. I was asking about giving up Sky because I can't afford a new computer and continue my Sky subscription.

Life is full of choices.
Why make a big deal of it here? :(

1350599 2013-08-06 07:08:00 You can get MotoGP on Sommetsports. Cant be bothered with Sky either. If we want to watch sports, we can go online to watch whatever sport

Please tell me where I can watch on the internet, live F1, live NASCAR, and live MotoGP with an English commentary and in a HD format?

Why make a big deal of it here? :(Sometimes bouncing ideas off others or using your fellow members as a sounding board is helpful. Who knows what alternative suggestions could be made.

1350603 2013-08-06 10:41:00 I can't wait for the day when all content is delivered online, with exactly the same content & exactly the same price everywhere in the world. We can still have local content, but if non-locals are interested in it too, they don't have to jump through hoops. Greven (91)
1350604 2013-08-06 21:13:00 Well the site i use doesnt show EVERY sport. And I dont think it's in HD either. Like I said, Sommetsports has MotoGP. Dont ask me when it's on. I dont watch it. But you'll need UHF not satellite to watch it Speedy Gonzales (78)
1350605 2013-08-06 21:44:00 I didn't see anyone making a big deal of it, just a chat thread discussing the merits of pay TV.
It's an entirely personal thing, I read the post listing why Zippity won't give up sky and it's all valid points - for him.
None of it is anything I care at all for so I don't have sky. The OP is going to have to decide for himself if it's worth it, maybe this thread will help, maybe it won't.

Sometimes I wonder why I bother with an Aerial, My TV is more of a monitor for movies and music than anything else. I let Tivo record a lot of stuff and never get around to watching it all, or just delete it because I don't care. I've gone online and browsed through Sky's packages and program listings, none of it looks very good to me. My biggest gripe is paying for a package I don't want most of just to get the few channels I might actually watch.

It'll take time but I think this kind of service is doomed in the long run. Overseas there are already options that look much more appealing and cost effective, eventually someone will do it here officially. The subscription fees for sky are too high and the channel options too restrictive, if I'm going to pay more that $40 a month for TV I want to pick the channels I get, I'm not paying for bloat.
