1350543 2013-08-06 03:36:00 Should / we did but not here in Taupo. Its probably the aerials or where we are. There's a dish in the roof, but its for Sky and it wont work with freeview (unless there's a freeview receiver that doesnt need or use the LNB's). Which is missing on this dish. I dont watch Parliament the flatmate does. It'd save her going online to watch it

I thought you could just plug into the Sky dish.

Is that not right?

1350544 2013-08-06 03:45:00 Not for Freeview|HD - that is terrestrial and requires a UHF aerial. If you are in a UHF reception area, it is many times better than the satellite service. wratterus (105)

I brought a FV satellite receiver it had LNB connections on it, but the dish doesnt have any. No signal. I took it back to the shop

Yep, that worked for me when I was using freeveiw sat. Unplug Sky, plug in freeview. That simple (sorta)

From memory , there will be a power pack, power supply for the Sat dish, but that should allready be connected up

1350547 2013-08-07 18:19:00 The Parliament channel isn't broadcast to all regions. Nelson for example apsattv (7406)
1350548 2013-08-07 20:40:00 The tuner in this picks up the Parliament channel but the signal isnt strong enough to show the picture. This is with a mini aerial tho. But the TV in the lounge with an outside aerial, cant even pick the channel up Speedy Gonzales (78)
1350549 2013-08-07 21:04:00 I gota ring Hills, anyway, today.
Twice I turned TV on and within a few minutes had frozen picture, with sound.
So we watched DVD's instead.
Beginning to think whole things a waste of time :(

Different regions DO not get the parliament channel, the receiver equipment may still see the data in the mux stream. Your tv in your lounge being an official Freeview unit will see it but hide it as there is no actual video content on the data pids.

Might pay to ask around your neighbours to see how they get on,have a look around at other aerials and there size (elements) and the exact direction they are pointing
You may need something with more grunt to pull the signal from Te Aroha www.freeviewshop.co.nz

When Freeview came in I did the install as I thought how hard could it be but had to get a Aerial installer to find the problem, ended up having signal bounce as I had to have the aerial pointed 45 Degrees away from Te Aroha

1350552 2013-08-08 21:51:00 The big phased array is very good, I just replaced my 43 element with one, was struggling to get freeview through a line of trees, and didn't get mainland at all, now I get both sweet. wratterus (105)
