1350502 2013-08-03 23:18:00 Our 32" TV works fine - as Chill mentioned, text is not that flash, but still very readable. The attached computer is running W8 and works just like any other display.

The picture is good, even through VGA, as it only has one HDMI input, and we have three HDMI devices we can connect ( think I need to buy a switch) :)

What we did find, when selecting the TV, ( few years ago now) if the TV was a Plasma :yuck: - forget it - it was total crap, even graphics were rubbish, thats why we went for LCD.

1350505 2013-08-05 22:27:00 Just why does txt look so bad PC=>TV ???
Ive allways wondered . Is it the shape of the pixels being different on older TV's compared to monitors ?
Or is it just older tv'S that pc txt looks bad?

Its truely awefull veiwing windows,notepad,dos box etc; but PC programs designed for TV the txt looks OK .

Probably something to do with the DPI: remembering pretty much every screen size (from phones to TVs) is capable of 1080p these days so the pixels would be larger on the TV.

1350507 2013-08-05 22:49:00 I posted here yesterday and it never appeared.
My 24" monitor is actually a samsung TV, text looks horrible unless you rename the input to "HDMI PC" and then it looks as good as any other monitor. Something the "manual" neglects to mention. It's the same for many TV's, the input needs to be set in some way to PC mode or it will not look good. TV's are generally optimised for bright colourful video performance and not text.

An easy way to check is to compare the VGA input on your TV to the HDMI one if possible, if VGA looks better it's quite possibly a setup issue. VGA by default is a PC only input and is configured as such, HDMI is much more versatile and could be connected to all kinds of things so it won't be PC optimised by default.

my 60" plasma looks ok as a monitor, but black and white text is quite Dim and more of a black and grey. Start a video or you tube going though and it looks fantastic.

1350508 2013-08-06 05:53:00 Dont know why people are complaining about the text, looks okay on mine, not like a IPS or even IPS panel, but still not blury and easy enough to read, Im in the garage on my TV PC now.....maybe I should take a photo and upload..its a 37" Plasma...

Now, how to upload and edit from the iPad...LOL

1350510 2013-08-06 07:10:00 I have found some TVs (Panasonic seems to be the worst offender) auto-configure to 1024x768 instead of 1366x768 or 1920x1080. That could be part of the reason why some of the computer + TV setups you have seen have looked terrible. Greven (91)
