| 1369086 | 2014-03-01 09:36:00 | I actually bought one just like that from eBay for fun ages ago. It *works* but there are problems... Main gripe is that the antenna connector is a rather small micro coax (MCX), and only works with their included antenna which only works if you live next to the transmitter. You can get adapters but then you're hanging a normal (and big in comparison) coax cable connector off the tiny little thing and I doubt it's going to last. If you do get a USB one, make sure it has a full-size coax connector on it. But I would recommend an internal card one instead. Though the USB ones are good for SDR though if you get the right chipset... Also, make sure your computer can handle playback of the HD video! If you're unsure, post your system specifications (CPU type and speed etc) here. |

You need to make sure your system specs are up to it. The best experience in my opinion is if you have Media Centre on Windows 7 or 8 and a windows remote - becomes very nice to use and rivals a good PVR. I haven't used them for a while though, I believe they now come with software that works in NZ, when I got mine they didn't and 3rd party software or media centre was the only option - I paid for DVBviewer before windows 7 patched media centre to work here - it had codec issues originally. |

And yup my previous tuner had a micro coax connection on it, which was fiddly. This one does have a full coax connector. BUT, if you do get USB, make sure it works in NZ. Pbtech were selling one a while ago, it was a winfast IIRC. I found out (they didn't mention this on the site at the time), that it doesnt work with FV in NZ. I told them at the time, why sell it, if it doesnt work in NZ. They didn't really answer that question And the program I installed, didn't / couldn't find any FV channels. So, I took it back and replaced it with an Avermedia A835, which does work |

Currently I have Win8.1 Pro with WMC and a HV1200 card to an outside antenna. It works perfectly. WMC setup is automatic. |
