1350346 2013-08-01 00:26:00 Hi

I've checked a few on trade me but there's not much to choose from.
Anyone know of a good place in Auckland that sells and install reverse camera for cars?
I think some of the, ones in trade me are of not good quality and overprice.

1350349 2013-08-01 00:39:00 They're not cheap for a good one. You can buy something cheap off TradeMe or Ebay and get them to install it, I would imagine installation for that kind of thing would still run you $200 - $300 or maybe even more. It all takes time. wratterus (105)

1350351 2013-08-01 08:50:00 Yea haha..

I had a few small bangs where I just couldn't see the distance between the car and a pole or another car.
Had a few close calls with children. They are really small and its hard to see them sometimes.

I found a place in Avondale for $280 including installation.
I'm gonna go visit them this weekend

Thanks

1350352 2013-08-01 09:35:00 yeah kids can be a trouble, especially when they dart out without any warning, reversing is the worst.

just did a quick google search, if the other place you found is no joy, you could try www.rearviewcamera.co.nz/ or supercheapauto.co.nz -reversing+camera (http:)

One has to wonder if you should really hold a driver licence. I desperately hope I'm not in your vicinity when you're behind the wheel!

At least Ninjabear is going out of his way to get a reverse car camera to reduce the risk of reversing into a child/object. Good on him. Jen (38)
1350355 2013-08-01 22:49:00 Agree it's a bit harsh, if you drive long enough it's almost garaunteed you'll have an incident or two. I once forgot I had the trailer upside down on the driveway to fix the suspension and backed into pushing it through the fence - completely invisible from inside the car. Not my poudest driving moment to be sure, but I can't remember ever backing into anything else. I see the value in a reversing camera, let us know how you get on.

Me I'm usually very cautious, prone to stopping and getting out to have a look if I'm not sure. A little embarrassing when you think you're about to back into a wall in a car park and get out to discover you are almost 2M away from it :)
