265972 2004-08-27 12:33:00 I'm trying to find some software which is able to show me the sgnal strength of my wireless router in my house. I came across some software a while ago (before I had a wireless router) which could plot the signal strength out over a roomplan so you'd know where to position access points etc, but I can't remember the name of it!! If anyone knows this product that I'm trying to describe or something similar, I'd love to know the names! davidb (5576)

265974 2004-08-28 03:38:00 If you've got a laptop, many of the PCMCIA (and USB) Wifi adapters come with monitor software which does that. The PCI ones might to, but it's a bit harder to move a desktop and monitor around the room. ;-) Graham L (2)
265975 2004-08-29 12:15:00 Yes I have a laptop and yes it already has some software to monitor the WiFi connection, but the program I've seen used actually has a plan of the room/house and in the shows in different colours the signal strength. I've used netstumbler as well and while this is quite good, I'm still after something which displays the room plan etc. Thanks a lot. davidb (5576)
