| 266085 | 2004-08-28 08:10:00 | Hi Alan, many thanks for all your suggestions, I have a 2 mth old P4 Packard Bell ixtreme P830 running WINXP. It came with trial version of NAV 2003, and I allready have the full version of 2003 as I used it on my old comp. there was no eval NIS 2003 anywhere. I uninstalled NAV 2003 thru the add/remove programs in control panel . I had activated NIS 2004 so I cant even onsell it now, the probs only started with NIS 2004, I have reinstalled NAV 2003 and updated my sub with them, so far so good, its running fine. I think its probably my comp that is at fault somewhere. I have used Symantecs AV and system works etc etc over the years, all with no probs, this is the first time I have had problems with Symantec's utilities. My NAV 2003 is working ok and I think I will just sit on this one for now and keep getting virus definition updates, I am also running Zone Alarm Pro, have got the HPHipm09.exe problem sorted after numerous emails back and forth to the techs. thanks again |

It has a long history of screwing up OS's, is very hard to get rid of (uninstall completely), and does conflict with some other programs. Perhaps the newest Norton antivirus has solved these problems but frankly I would not risk Nortons when there are so many good AV programs around." | Steve_L (763) | ||
