| 266780 | 2004-08-30 01:10:00 | No. The sync pulses just keep the image locked on screen. The CRT doesn't use "coloured" rays either, it uses three electron beams to selectively illuminate phosphor dots on the screen that give off red, green and blue light respectively. Take a look through the "How Things Work" website and you should find more information. If you can't find a monitor, a colour TV will do as the technology is identical. The vertical and horizontal sync circuit, & the Red-Green-Blue bit are completely different circuits belive ir or not, the signals all come from the video card in your computer or mostly now from the video part of your computer mother board, sometimes the snyc (one or both) might be positive or negative going and this will determen what screen resolution wil be e.g 640 * 480, 800 * 600, what ever, not that you asked about I just thought I whould woffel on a bit. |
