I would hazard a guess that this is not something to worry about. Maybe try a registry cleaner may rid you of it as I take it you dont actively use this programme or have a look here (www.spyany.com) to see if this is the same problem that you have. good luck sam m |

2004-08-28 19:59:00 | ps - forgot to mention the last link I added requires you to play in the registry. Do so with extreme caution. Make sure you back up the registry before making the said changes. | sam m (517) | |
2004-08-29 00:09:00 | You could goto the key and export it, then delete it, if things go wrong you can then place the key back. | Rob99 (151) | |

2004-08-29 12:35:00 | Have you got your spybot up to date and enabled all the immunise features .When you start spybot go to mode up the top menu bar and click on advanced then at the bottom click tools then you can enable different things to block spyware etc. Have you got spyware blaster it also blocks a lot of things trying to install on your computer. SpywareBlaster here (www.javacoolsoftware.com) Adaware site (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/) A2 here (www.emsisoft.com) Make sure these programs are updated after you download them and as regurley as possible A good program to have also is Startup Guard 1.1 which tells you if something tries to add itself to your startup then you can block it and look in the programs log to get the name of the program trying to load. here (http://www.acelogix.com) more helpfull programs cwshredder here (www.spywareinfo.com) HijackThis here (www.spychecker.com) hth

2004-08-29 12:51:00 | I think the bigger problem here than SpyBot not detecting dialers is the sites you go to. If you've managed to get prompted to install two dialers within the course of this thread you must be visiting some pretty interesting sites. I'd suggest using an alternative browser when searching for free adult material, or buy access to a reputable site to prevent recurrence.

2004-08-29 13:05:00 | dunno wot you are talking about..whisky..but I have not visited those sort of sites for a while and then it is only to read the articles..seriously..I have recently cleaned out my system and managed to aquire these dialers from web searches for innocent things like images of dogs for my son's school projects etc and also trying to download screensavers, while my surfing habits maybe a bit suss,I usually do not enter adult sites as such or gambling sites,I also have 2 teenage boys who maybe have got these items playing games on the net..honest..or do I protest too much :-( Keith

2004-08-29 23:58:00 | whisky wasn't to far off the ball there...;-) a lot of "fun" sites such as those that have screensavers and a lot of kids sites are sites that try to infect you with nasty programs (that what pays for the site). try a different browser or disable any downloads or activeX.
