267196 2004-08-30 23:52:00 I'm wanting a recommendation for a small meter that will sit on my desktop and measure internet activity from our three computer network. I have just joined Ihug's Home 1000 which is full speed, 1GB/month and I need an easy way to keep track of the usage total.

thanks
Janice

Thats the one you're billed by so that the one you should rely on.

I've never heard of/seen an external bandwidth meter.

267198 2004-08-30 23:58:00 sorry, i didn't make it clear did I? I meant a software meter - I've tried DU Meter but it doesn't do exactly what I want. jdowdeswell (6091)

267201 2004-08-31 01:30:00 As WTF says the only meter that counts in the end is the one that bills you. See here 4g.virtual.net.nz for a utility that keeps an eye on Teelcom's Jetstream usage meter. PaulD (232)
267202 2004-08-31 03:02:00 Oh, that's very nice, perfect in fact! For the benefit of others: this nice little programme gives a percentage used of the monthly total in your system tray and takes the figures from telecom's meter. Thanks for the link! jdowdeswell (6091)
